Islamic Relief Palestine celebrates Universal Children’s Day

Islamic Relief organized “Big Dreams” activity in collaboration with a number of civil society institutions and kindergartens in the Gaza Strip in the occasion of Universal Children’s day which marks the twentieth of November each year

More than 700 children participated in the event drawing and coloring on pieces of cloth and then they but pieces together to create a large mural of 850 square meters expressing their right to access better education and health services

Another 100 children representatives of their kindergartens also participated in the activity where they stick drawings of hands of their peers on a large wall carried children messages that call for providing better, health, education and protection for them.

Mr. Mohammed Abu Moharram, Manager of Child Welfare Program said “this activity comes within the activities of the Child Welfare Program who provide a range of activities that insure a level of welfare for children in different aspects whether educational, social, psychological or economic”

He added, “The main objective of this event is to draw the world’s attention to the Palestinian children who suffer from difficult psychological and social conditions as a result of the loss of thier fundamental rights guaranteed by international conventions such as the right to security, education, health, the right to play and other rights

He emphasized, “this activity is a universal message-oriented activity which left space for children to express their dreams and aspirations by tools they like as (drawing and painting), calling for intensified local and international efforts for improving the situation of children in the Gaza Strip.”
