Title: Education Officer

Ref.:  EO -CWP – 08 -2018

Location: Gaza office.

Duration: 16 months, full time.

Deadline of applications:  Monday, 30 April 2018.

About the project:

The project (improving kindergarten education access & quality, Phase 2) will involve piloting and dissemination of the new kindergartens’ curricula, through building the capacity of KGs teachers and supporting them in curricula implementation through supervision system and exchange of experiences with previously trained KGs in terms of applying the new curricula practical explanatory lessons, through the scholastic year of 2018/2019.

 

Main Duties:

  • Overall management of the project scope, time (planning and scheduling), cost (budget), scope (quality), and other aspects of project management in collaboration with direct supervisor and supporting departments.
  • Responsible for the implementation of the project activities in adherence to IRPAL policies and guided by IRPAL vision and the project goals.
  • Follow up of the activities in the field and updates concerning the project and its implementation activities.
  • Participate in selection of beneficiaries (where applicable) and supervise the project implementation by MOEHE, and give expertise and guidance to MoEHE according to IRPAL policies and empower them through transferring systems, knowledge & skills
  • Carry out needs assessment and research studies of the target groups, and design proper interventions.
  • Supervise the model lessons which will be implemented among the selected KGs.
  • Ensure proper documentation and visibility of the project.
  • Represent IRPAL and participate in related forums, clusters and similar INGOs events.
  • Contribute in reviewing and developing the electronic supervision system.
  • Responsible for producing results-based reports as per the donors’ and IRPAL requirements

Candidates must possess the following competencies:

  • University degree in education, psychology or related field.
  • Minimum three years of relevant working experience in the field of education sector

General Knowledge & skills required:

  • Very good experience in the field of education, especially in pre-school age,
  • Good communication and coordination skills to deal with project team, stakeholders and beneficiaries,
  • Very good project management skills including coordination, communication, facilitation, and reporting,
  • Understanding of international human rights issues,
  • Ability to work under pressure, multi–task, manage time and prioritize work to deadlines,
  • Strong interpersonal skills are a significant advantage, both for internal coordination and for working with key stakeholders,
  • Competency in writing progress reports and narratives for donors,
  • The ability to work on own initiative, effectively both as an individual and as part of a team,
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office,
