The EYE Project Starts Developing a Unified Definition for TVET CoC

The Enhancing Youth Employability (EYE) Project team have started developing a unified definition for Centres of Competence (CoCs) in the Gaza Strip in line with the orientation to improve the TVET sector through implementing the National TVET Strategy (revised 2010).

One of the cornerstones of the TVET strategy implantation is establishing CoCs with advanced equipment and teaching environment, and with qualified staff and improved training curricula of international standards.

In the framework of applying modern TVET standards and specifications, the EYE Project team have formed a workgroup consisting of representatives from TVET providers and the private sector to develop a Concept Paper for the CoCs and their role in upgrading TVET services in the Gaza Strip. The group worked under the supervision of an international TVET strategy expert and local experts to transfer the international expertise to Palestine.

Project Manager, Dr Ammar El-Qidra, said all TVET providers from the public and private sectors are involved in the comprehensive development processes of the project. Developing a unified definition the CoCs is a significant step towards the advancement of the TVET sector and will constitute a cornerstone for creating of a unified TVET system in Palestine.
