The EYE Project Launches Learning and Development Programme for TVET Trainers LDPTT

Islamic Relief- Palestine (IRPAL) continued with implementing the “Learning and Development Programme for TVET Trainers” (LDPTT) training program, within the efforts to improve Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) system in the Gaza Strip.

LDPTT training programme is a major part of the “Enhancing Youth Employability” project, funded by the Swiss Development Cooperation (SDC) and implemented by the IRPAL.

This programme, which spans from January through June 2014,  is one of the most important training programs and is expected to mark a milestone in developing the performance of TVET trainers in the Gaza Strip.

It targets 100 trainers selected from various TVET centers and schools working in the public and private sectors in Gaza Strip. It focuses on TVET trainers from the Ministry of Labor (MoL), the Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE), the Ministry of Social Affairs, the UNRWA, Near East Council of Churches (NECC) and the Irada Project of the Islamic University of Gaza.

Dr. Ammar El Qidra, EYE Project Manager, said the LDPTT is a very distinguished programme and comes as a first step towards developing the skills and competences of trainers working in TVET schools and centers in the Gaza Strip.

The programme, implemented by international and local experts, has four main modules; Modern TVET Concepts, Modern TVET Techniques, Classroom Management and finally Networking and Building Workplace Relationship.

The LDPTT, which aims at developing the skills and competences of TVET trainers, is a part of a comprehensive Human Resource Development (HRD) plan that also targets managers and principals working at different ministries and training institutions in the Gaza Strip.
