Launching TVET Media Awareness Campaign

Enhancing Youth Employability in the Gaza Strip (EYE) has launched media awareness events aiming to promote Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) awareness among school teachers, counselors and students. These events are considered a significant step forwards towards the implementation of the TVET media campaign which will be continued till the end of year 2015. Generally, the media campaign aspires to change the negative and stereotype image in the Palestinian community and disseminate TVET knowledge and occupations among formal school students.

The launching of TVET awareness events were inaugurated in Julis Secondary school in the presence of Dr. Ammar Al Qidra, EYE Project Manager, Dr. Mohammed Al A’raj, General Director of TVET in MoEHE, Mr. Mahmoud Matter, General Manger of Gaza Directorate in MoEHE, Maghdi Abu Ghali, MoL Representative as well as school teachers and students. Dr. Al Araj emphasized what distinguish TVET  tracks is that students accomplish their secondary school mastering an occupation required in the labour market; in addition to other  advantages such as perusing their higher education or training locally or internationally.

Seeking to instill TVET messages in student’s minds, school events included different activities such as awareness speeches from both MoEHE & MoL about their TVET schools and centers, occupations and entry requirements. TVET interactive games and dramatic theaters were performed in ten governmental schools from different directorates.
