Islamic Relief Announces the Launch of the Second Phase of Enhancing Youth Employability Project<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Islamic Relief announced starting working on implementing the second phase of Enhancing Youth Employability project in the Gaza Strip which is funded by Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation. The project that will last for three years was announced in a joint ceremony with Belgian Development Agency-BTC and attended by a group of organizations working in the technical and vocational education and training sector.<\/p>\n

The Country Director of Islamic Relief Office, Eng. Muneeb Abu Ghzaleh, welcomed the attendance confirming on Islamic Relief great efforts in developing the capacities of the Palestinian youth to include them in the labor market and that through implementing Enhancing Youth Employability project \u2013phase II.<\/p>\n

Eng. Muneeb mentioned “We believe that youth are one of the important fortunes that can be invested to benefit the whole community. Thus, Islamic Relief is dedicated to develop their capacities through equipping them by labor market driven competences, developing their small projects and providing them with temporary job opportunities, training and voluntary opportunities as well.”<\/p>\n

On her part, Mrs. Haneen Abu Nahla, BTC field officer in the Gaza Strip said “The main focus of technical and vocational education and training centers’ program of 2017 will be on the initiatives of work based learning approach which will be implemented through joint cooperation with Islamic Relief.”<\/p>\n

Mrs. Abu Nahla also added “We at Belgian Development Agency endeavor through joint cooperation with Islamic Relief and GIZ to present a model for the international organizations to follow in supporting different sectors”.<\/p>\n

Mr. Hazem Al Masharawi from the GIZ pointed out “We work together to develop the sector of technical and vocational education and training in Palestine for achieving integrative and optimal results in developing this sector focusing mainly on youth”.<\/p>\n

Eng. Kamal Abu Moeleq from the Ministry of Education said “We greatly salute all the supporting organizations for their enormous role in building, equipping and training, as well as for developing the technical and vocational education and training in the Gaza Strip.”<\/p>\n

Eng. Talat Abu Moeleq from the Ministry of Labor clarified “We noticed through the implementation of the first phase a comprehensive and real development for technical and vocational education and training centers and for the labor office as well. We also hope that this new project will develop other new occupations not included in the previous phase.”<\/p>\n

The manager of Community Development Program at Islamic Relief, Eng. Hussam Jouda, presented in detail the plan of the new project explaining that there will be a work on a sustainable fund plan for TVET centers which were developed before and that there will also be an advocacy and lobbying plan to ensure the financial and institutional sustainability for each center of competence through linking it to the labor market.”<\/p>\n
