Islamic Relief holds a press conference to announce launching the widespread media campaign in Gaza Strip

In cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, Islamic Relief had hold a press conference to announce launching the widespread campaign to encourage registering children in kindergartens titled “Register your child in kindergarten and build a better future”.  This campaign aims at raising community awareness about the importance of enrollment in kindergartens in the adult’s life later on. Also it stresses the improvement of services quality of and care provided to children in addition to promoting community participation.

Dr. Mohammed Syam in the General Manager of Education at the Ministry of Education mentioned that the conference announces additionally launching computerized system of regulations and license accreditation of public education in preschools, private centers and private schools, pointing out that MOE offers high online licensing quality service for Palestinian people at their homes.

Dr. Mohammed Syam said “we are now working in full compatibility with General Education in the West Bank to prepare a unified curriculum for kindergartens as already produced the National general framework document of the unified Palestinian Curriculum for kindergarten stage.  This step aims at meeting the child’s needs and abilities and develop their skills towards comprehensive and integrated growth with a focus on preparing safe ,healthy. And child friendly environment. Mr. Syam also emphasized creating new aspects of the educational process and activating new educational methods especially when preparing teachers’ manual to contribute to easy access and transition to basic school stage.”

Dr. Mohammed Syam announced that the unified Palestinian curriculum will be first implemented  by the start of the new2016-2017 scholastic year after training of a TOT  central team of the Ministry of Education directorate of education supervisors  and number of kindergartens principals.  The experience will be measured in forty pilot kindergartens affiliated to the project, and will also be circulated to all kindergartens in the Gaza Strip at the same time within a stimulating environment that ensures the quality of learning outcomes and ensure the unity of understanding and implementation.

This campaign is the cornerstone of the project “Improving pre -school education access and quality  in Gaza Strip Phase 1”, which involves five key programs, including preparing a unified curriculum, future kindergarten , my child’s health, the effective supervision in addition to kindergarten and the community. It is worth mentioning that training of TOT central team starts from 4/8/2016 until 13/08/2016 .On 20 th /8/2016 the same team will run training for 12 groups of kindergarten teachers in all directorates of Gaza. Aiming at reaching the Goal  to implement the new curriculum starting from the academic year 2016-2017, considering it as a national achievement for Palestine.
