Delivering Home Appliances to 14 families at North Gaza

Through “Healthy Home and Living Environment Towards Creating a Safe and Healthy Living Environment” project, implemented by Islamic Relief Palestine and funded by Islamic Relief UK, Islamic Relief spreads joy and happiness among 14 families residing at north Gaza.
Taraq Rayan, project coordinator, said, “we delivered electrical devices and furniture to the beneficiaries who were in desperate need to such items in order to lead a decent life”.
He added “the first phase of the project included providing 14 families with home appliances and electrical equipment including washing machines, refrigerators, mattresses, pillows, and other non-food items. Other beneficiaries of the project will receive the same devices in a coming phase.”
He continued, “Families will also receive vouchers so as to purchase other needs. Moreover, family members who are school students will receive school uniform and stationary.”
The project aims to enhance living and health conditions through rehabilitation works. Awareness sessions were conducted and first aid packages along with hygiene kits were distributed among the attendants. Families also received psychosocial support.
Regarding maintenance and rehabilitation works, Rayyan illustrated,” 30 houses were renovated while the rehabilitation works for other houses are under process”.
It is worth mentioning that the project targets 50 families from Gaza City and North area. The project will be completed by the end of September 2016.
