Islamic Relief provides kindergarten with fortified milk via “Milk for Preschoolers Project”
Islamic Relief implements this project in partnership with the Ard El Ensan Palestinian Benevolent Association to provide children at kindergartens with fortified milk, the project is funded by Islamic Relief – Canada.
The project targets 2600 children at 23 kindergartens form North Gaza and Khan Younis provinces where these areas suffer from malnutrition more than the rest of the Gaza Strip.
The project provides preschoolers with fortified milk in order to improve children’s health and treat malnutrition
The project also provides children with fortified high-energy biscuits on a daily basis in order to address malnutrition along 125 school days.
It will also be holding awareness workshops for mothers and nannies of children about proper nutrition
At the beginning of the project, examination of height, weight, blood hemoglobin of a number of children benefiting from the project who are selected randomly at the end of the project the same tests are done for the same children to measure the effect of taking the proportion of high-energy biscuits and fortified milk on children health.
The project also coordinated another project titled “Improving public health and hygiene practices for female headed households, and kindergartens in the Gaza Strip”, which will implement awareness activities in kindergartens for educators, parents, and children about the importance of personal hygiene and good daily practices. Also the project coordinated with the Psychosocial Support Program to provide psychosocial support and psychotherapy for children in need for support also the project implements recreational days and activates.
