Conclusion of Second Vocational Entrepreneurial Boot Camp
Islamic Relief has concluded second vocational entrepreneurial boot camp which was carried out within the activities of Palestine Expo-tech Week 2016 during last week in cooperation with Belgian Development Agency -BTC and GIZ.
The three days boot camp has targeted 60 of ICT graduates. Students have presented 22 projects’ ideas after being trained on several topics including “how to start your own project, small enterprises’ analysis, defining competitors, identifying needs as well as filling business model.”
Hussam Jouda, Community Development Program Manager at Islamic Relief, announced at the conclusion of the boot camp, Islamic Relief financial support for the best four entrepreneurial projects and ideas that have been designed during boot camp period.
Mr. Jouda declared “This boot camp has provided the opportunity for ICT youth graduates to promote their abilities to create sustainable livelihood. This has been done by marketing their projects’ ideas before many of relevant organizations and private sector companies that work in ICT sector and has participated in this huge event”.
He also added “Islamic Relief managed in the last few years to support the quality of technical and vocational education and training centers-TVET centers. Today Islamic Relief continues linking qualified graduates to labor market”.
Haneen Abu Nahla, representative of Belgian Development Agency – Gaza Office, emphasized that “Participation of technical and vocational education and training in Expo-tech is a significant achievement. This boot camp is an essential complement in order to promote TVET sector through graduates’ acquisition of needed skills that are necessary to set up small enterprises and drive them towards the road of creativity and distinction in the field of entrepreneurships”
Hazem Al Mashharawi, representative of GIZ, pointed out “Today’s success is a result of the hard work and continuous cooperation between participating organizations, which sought to achieve integration in supporting TVET sector”.
It’s worth mentioning that Islamic Relief had implemented vocational entrepreneurial boot camp last summer in collaboration with BTC and targeted 120 graduates of TVET centers to include them in the labor market.
