Islamic Relief – Palestine started implementing safety net project (Cash Assistance) in all governorates of Gaza Strip. The project aims to improving the difficult living circumstances which most Palestinian families encounter.
More than 2000 people (300 families) were chosen to benefit from the project based on the selection criteria which include income resources, poverty level, and the existence of vulnerable categories inside the benefiting families such as patients, people with disabilities, women, and old people. The project comes in difficult humanitarian circumstances which most Palestinian families suffer from due to the siege imposed on Gaza, closing borders, high level of poverty, and high rates of unemployment.
The project will provide the chosen families with monthly financial assistance for a year to help families secure their basic living needs, therefore living with dignity. Islamic Relief team will also offer advices and guidance to the benefiting families during the project implementation period to enable them to identify their needs and to apply coping strategies with all the surrounding circumstances.
